My name is Alessandro Melis. I am a lifelong resident of Iglesias, the medieval town that lies just inland from the rugged Sulcis coast. My grandfather worked in the lead and zinc mines of Masua during the middle of the twentieth century, and the history of these cliffs is part of my family stories.
